Firsts

This is so weird... Writing down all your feelings... I usually would never do this sort of thing, but AFS said it was a good idea. So, here I go. I feel... Excited. And nervous. But my host family sound really awesome. I've been emailing them and they're all so nice and welcoming. In one of the emails, my host mother said that apparently Mödling gets a lot of wind... Slightly depressing as the wind here is gusting at like a hundred miles an hour behind me! But at least I'll be used to it I suppose... Won't seem so foreign! :)

This week has been really busy. Had an orientation camp last weekend which was so much fun. I had a really long talk with Sophie at like 1 o'clock in the morning because we couldn't sleep... She was really good. And it was so cool to talk to someone who's been there really recently, she went a year and a half ago. The next day all the "selectees" came and that was really strange! Just to think, a year ago that's exactly where we were... So much has changed! And we've changed a lot as well...

Today was netball and it was raining with gale force winds. Lovely. I hate having games earlier than 11 because then I have to get up at like 8. Or earlier. Which usually, you know once a weekend is fine. But on Sundays now I have to get up at 6.50 every week. So I think I deserve a bit of a sleep in! So my game was at 10.10 this week, we were out of the house by 9.25, running a bit late as always. So by the time we got there at about 9.50, all Collegiate games below 1a had been cancelled. Which was nice and all, I didn't have to play. But I still had to umpire! I did a Prem 3, and it was relatively nice, a few dirty looks, but there always are. I ended up doing a Prem Res 2 the round after because they couldn't find anyone, and it wasn't as good, it rained pretty much the entire time and I was already wet, but I felt I'd done my good citizen duty for the day! Then after a lot of fluffing around Dad and I left and picked up yummy stuff from Pandoro for lunch. I love pecan pie. And then Dad and I went out to Porirua, wanting to go and get wiper blades and check out the Kathmandu sale. Only problem? There is no Kathmandu is Porirua anymore! So we drove all the way over to Petone in the torrential storm and I got a few cool Kathmandu things, including a polar fleece headband thing which I quite wanted after seeing Jess's. And I got to drive, which was pretty awesome.

Work tomorrow, early as always! Should probably be off to bed to get anywhere near enough sleep... I wonder if I'll do this every day? I wonder if anyone will read my random rambling thoughts... Anyways, to anyone who reads this, goodnight!
